Fulldome Film: Beta 2.1.20 @ Llum BCN 2018

This past February we were at Llum BCN, the Barcelona’s Art and Light installations festival that took place this year within the Poblenou neighbourhood.

For this edition we installed a 17m diameter Dome in collaboration with the SAT (Société des Arts Technologiques) where we presented our last audiovisual piece in 360: Beta 2.1.20. The Dome was installed at the new area presented by the festival for this edition: El Espai Familiar. There, both children and adults enjoyed our immersive projection, but also interactive swings, a mechanical garden, an app that tests your knowledge about the city and the funny puppet Papitu.

Llum BCN proposes every year a really interesting offer of light and audiovisual installations, the opportunity to see live all the creative power and innovation born in Barcelona. This 2018 lots of friends and acquaintances presented quite attractive projects as Oniolab‘s “Illuminati”, a didactic mapping about light and color; Playmodes Studio‘s star piece “Beyond”, or MID, who presented the light-reactive structure “Plan D”.

Beta 2.1.20 Synopsis

The piece brings us to a future in which the chain production of robots is a reality and everything’s automatized. We enter the factory where the new series of robots Beta 2.1.20 is being created, but one of them presents an anomaly. The AI advances beyond our control and we live the awakening of a new being. A being that can feel, imagine and create. A story that makes us reflect about what’s the intelligent life.

El pasado febrero estuvimos presentes en Llum BCN, el festival sobre arte e instalaciones lumínicas de Barcelona que tuvo lugar este año en el barrio de Poblenou. Para esta edición instalamos un Domo de 17m de diámetro en colaboracion con la SAT (Société des Arts Technologiques) donde presentamos nuestra última pieza audiovisual en formato 360: Beta 2.1.20. El Domo estuvo instalado en la nueva área que presentaba el festival para esta edición: El Espai Familiar. Donde tanto pequeños como adultos disfrutaron de nuestra proyección inmersiva, pero también de columpios interactivos, un jardín mecánico, una app que pone a prueba los conocimientos sobre la ciudad y el divertido capgròs Papitu.

Llum BCN plantea cada año una oferta muy interesante de instalaciones lumínicas y audiovisuales. Una oportunidad de ver en escena toda la potencia creativa e innovación nacidas en Barcelona. Este año, entre esas instalaciones, muchos amigos y estudios conocidos que presentaron proyectos muy atractivos, como Onionlab con su ‘Illuminati’, un mapping didáctico sobre la luz y el color; el estudio Playmodes Studio con su pieza estrella ‘Beyond’ ó MID que presentó ‘Plan D’, una estructura lumínico-reactiva.

Beta 2.1.20 Sinopsis

La obra nos sitúa en un futuro en el que la producción en cadena de robots ya es una realidad y donde todo está automatizado. Entraremos en la fábrica donde se crea la nueva serie de robots Beta 2.1.20, uno de los cuales presenta una anomalía. La inteligencia artificial avanza fuera de nuestro control y vivimos el despertar de un nuevo ser. Un ser que puede sentir, imaginar y crear… Una historia que nos hace reflexionar sobre qué es la vida inteligente.
