2018 – Barcelona

Immersive multimedia worlds transport visitors into an imaginative twist on the classic carnival inside the Paradise City Wonderbox.
Telefonica presented in this year’s MWC the possibilities of digitalization applied to the industry. The idea is to transform industrial sectors by applying new technologies, improving it’s traceability and the automation of processes and decisions. The technological components that converge int his Telefonica ecosystem wanted to be represented at this MWC stand: the Internet of Things (IoT), the blockchain, advanced connectivity technologies (5G and private LTE) and augmented reality.

The stand production was a project comissioned to Domestic Data Streamers, creators of the global concept, who counted with us to connect all the worlds of the Telefonica environment to an interactive screen that merged all the installations in a single visual piece. The Barcelona studio Morphika was in charge of creating all the content and giving a tangible form to a world of data and connections..

The stand hosted 4 interactive installations that had direct reflection into the screen that worked as a node of all the technologies Telefonica was presenting that year:

  • Virtual Saloon: VR space to watch content in groups from all over the world. To amplify this connection we cloned in real time the movements of the glasses of the users that tested the installation to 3 giant heads on the screen joining them in a digital world.
  • Industry 4.0: We created a video game on a touch screen that interacted with the main screen and a robot arm that explained the advantatges of Blockchain, the AR Maintenance and the 5G technology.
  • Evolving to 5G: In collaboration with Huawei, we created an app in which the user had to catch a real ball thrown by a fan, but within the virtual world using 5G technology for its low latency and bandwidth.
  • Internet for all: We created a video game to explain how Telefonica seeks to universalize high-speed Internet access in rural areas of South America, with partners like Facebook and Google.
  • Aura: Users could interact from their phones with the main screen, creating their own Aura and asking for their wishes for the future. To send this information to the database they had to blown on a dandelion that appeared in the screens of its terminals, which was instantly converted into particles that could be seen on the main screen. Aura is the new Telefonica platform that wants to connect with its customers in a direct and efficient way.
